Edo State Bomb Blast: How sincere can we be?

The news of the explosion that rocked a hospital belonging to the wife of an Edo State politician made the headlines over the weekend. After reading some reports about the incident, I fathomed that it's all about politics as usual. Yes, or what do you call a situation in which accusing fingers are being pointed without investigations. And the finger is not directed at a party member but an opponent. All these in the name of playing politics whether someone's image is being tarnished or human rights abused.

This is appalling. At this time in Nigeria's democracy, this sort of indecent game is still being played. Where are we heading to? I thought leadership is about selfless service. If actually one is sincere in having the good intention to lead, would it not be better if the people that are to be led picks the one to lead them owing to the good signs of leadership which had been shown on them in the past? This example happened in one of the South-Eastern states in the 2011 elections. Why would you want to get that seat 'by fire, by force' to the extent of using IEDs? Does the perpetrator of this evil know he or she has ended up teaching some other evil-minded people that IEDs could be 'useful' tools? Has this faceless being ever pondered how this country and in fact, the world will be if everyone resorts to using IEDs to achieve a personal interest?
Dear politicians, if you had worn your 'thinking caps', there would have probably not be a single political thug. So, think and rethink, cherish moral values and principles and it shall be well.
